  I have given the Northridge Village one star because the institution does provide, albeit at a ridiculously high cost, 3 meals a day, mediocre and sometimes inedible as they are. The management runs the place in a shockingly predatory manner, shocking because the majority of their residents are unable to stand up for themselves or even remember who is supposed to provide what for them. Shame on you Village management!
  My mother, who operates her own wheel chair, was offered to be wheeled to the dining room by a staff member. My mother accepted the offer and then was actually charged for the ride. This is scam artistry at its lowest.
  
  I am a frequent visitor and have know that clients have had to wait between 15 minutes and more than a half hour after they have buzzed for help; clearly, this lag time may easily put residents in serious danger. Certainly your price gauging practices ought to allow for sufficient staff and organization to insure residents are responded to immediately. This is the meaning of "assisted living."
  
  I recently attended a town hall meeting during which the director flashed plenty of smiles, but gave minimal responses to less serious problems raised by residents. The serious issues were virtually ignored. When I politely pointed out the problems with one of The Village's "solutions" , I was cut off with an uneasy smile and a "maybe we can try" to address that problem. Your "assisted living" facility is a sham that cannot be concealed by its attractive interiors. I do grant you that many engaging actvities are offered for residents, which is good for those able to participate, but does not make up for the neglect that amounts to passive elder abuse at your facility. Where you fail miserably is in your care for residents, in your evasive or plain lack of response to significant problems, your frequently unhealthy and nearly always unappetizing meals, as well as in in your fee gouging pactices. Your advertisements border on the fraudelent, but those I will be examining more closesly during my upcoming visit.
  
  Is anybody fooled by the several 5 star reviews you have posted --without a word, meaning no desciptions or specifics at all? This is a known and common practice by businesses failing in the public's eyes.
  
  Place your parents somewhere else!
