  Do not send your pets to this horrible vet. I lost my beloved 15 year old cat under his Care. On Feb 19th I took my cat for a paw infection. 2 months earlier he was also seen by Dr. PASTERNEK FOR AN eye infection. He sent my cat both times with antibiotics. He did a cbc panel one time after the eye infection. He told me that my cat kidney function tests had improved. I believed him because in 2016 he had diagnosed him with kidney disease. He would sell me herbal remedies for 60 dollars which he claimed would help the kidney disease. I believed him. On Feb 19th I took my cat for his final visit. He kept my cat for 3 hours. Didn't even draw loans or a cbc. Cleaned his teeth. No blood work, and sent him home with amoxicillin and gave him an anti inflammatory shot. Mist likely steroid. He told me to come back in a week. My cat was eating well a little tired but stable. He never told me my cat had no other health issues except the paw infection and he said it would be better to do blood work after 1 week. I was not able to go back in a week but after 10 days I was going to take him back for a check up. He had been eating well and I thought he was doing ok. I was wrong. On Saturday March 3rd my cat collapsed. It was very early in the am. I rushed him to Access We in West la. My cat was dying. When the diagnostic results stayed coming in I was shocked. My cat had no white blood cells. He was neutropenic. An ultrasound revealed he had several enlarged lymph nodes in his abdomen. He was septic. He had nearly no blood pressure. An echo showed he had fluid outside of his heart. He had fluid around his abdomen. His breathing was labored. My cat was dying. His protein level was critically low. He had facilities. His paws had sores from so much fluid all over his body. This horrible vet sent my cat home 10 days prior to his death without even doing a blood count. My poor cat had to suffer for 3 day before he passed away. I suffered. But at least I found out from all the diagnostic results that Dr. PASTERNEK is an evil vet. Do not send your beloved pets to him. I am registered nurse and I clearly see what he had done to my cat. I understand diagnostics and medicine. And he sent my cat on a death sentence after he failed to diagnose the multiple problems my cat had. I am not done as I really feel I need to make an investigation with the veterinarian board. Something NEEDS to be done. All these expensive herbs he sells without labels. Please be aware and don't take you loved ones to him. Please dont.
