  I'm glad I took a friend's advice and got them to represent me when I got charged with a DUI. I don't know if they're the best DUI lawyers in Los Angeles, but all I can say is that they got the charges dropped and I couldn't be more relieved.
  
  I was stopped by the police while I was getting off the 101 into Laurel Canyon a few months ago, and it's true I had a drink. But I was hardly drunk, and even the officer admitted that I wasn't driving badly at all. But I guess all cops think that if you're driving at 2 in the morning on a Saturday night, you must have been drinking hard. Anyway, according to the cop, I was initially pulled over because I hadn't gotten my sideview mirror fixed yet. Then he asked me if I had been drinking, so I asked him if I was driving badly. He said "not really", but that my sideview mirror needed fixing. And then it got worse from there when he said that my eyes were really red and made me take a Field Sobriety Test, which he said I failed! I couldn't believe it.
  
  So I panicked and called my friend and he recommended DS Criminal Law Group because I could get a free consultation. They didn't make guarantees, but they made sure I knew my rights and that I knew exactly what to do and say when I got grilled in court. They also let me work out a payment plan with no interest, so I didn't have to worry about not being able to get the right kind of representation just because I'm not miss moneybags.
  
  The secretary was very nice, she was helpful in calming me down when I freaked out about possibly losing my license and doing jail time I didn't think I deserved. One of the partners is a former prosecutor, which I think helps him be a better defender because he knows exactly what prosecutors look for to get a conviction.
  
  I got a pretty lengthy consultation, which was very helpful. And I figured that if they cared enough to give me free valuable information about my case, why shouldn't I choose them? Not to get sappy or anything, but you have a better chance of winning your case if your lawyer actually cares enough to put the necessary effort, even if it's just the initial consultation. I don't think I could trust a lawyer to represent me if I felt that I was just another case number to be filed away at the end of the day. I was fighting to keep my license and stay out of jail, and he understood that so I really appreciate it.
  
  I can definitely say that at least with me, they did a great job. I got to move on with my life and they protected my rights like they said they would.
